We are committed to maintaining the privacy of personal information that you provide to us when visiting or using hillviewflowers.co.uk, and we will comply with all Data Protection Act requirements. This Privacy Policy describes how we treat personal information received about you (the user) when you visit this website.

This Privacy Policy only covers hillviewflowers.co.uk. Websites linked to and from the site are not covered by this policy and we recommend you review the Privacy Policy at each of these websites to determine how that site protects your privacy.

This Privacy Policy may be subject to change from time to time. We will post any changes here, so be sure to check back periodically.

1 User Information

Personal information is not automatically stored or captured by our server, only your IP address is automatically captured.

Where personal data is voluntarily provided through email, online forms or enquiries, that data is used only for the purpose it was provided and will not be given or sold to any third parties.

We may use the information we collect to send you (very occasional) email notifications about new or existing products and services, special offers, or to otherwise contact you.

2 Financial Information

We do not store your financial information. Our Website Payment Platform Provider is PayPal. The secure, financial agreement you have when placing an order via this website is with PayPal. Hillview Flowers & Events does not have access to your PayPal Account information.

3 Disclosure of Personal Data

We may disclose and use personally identifiable information in special circumstances (for example, when necessary to protect our intellectual property rights).

We may also disclose or use your personal information when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires us to do so.

4 Website Usage Information & Cookies

IP addresses and website usage information is automatically collected from you when you visit hillviewflowers.co.uk. For this we use CookiesCookies are small files placed on your computer’s hard drive by websites; they help websites to analyse web traffic or recognise your computer when you visit a particular site.

Cookies can be used to track the number of visitors to a website, the time they spent on the site and the pages they looked at. Cookies can allow web applications to tailor content to suit your needs by remembering your likes, dislikes and preferences – such as the way sites like Amazon and eBay suggest items that you might be interested in based on what you have looked at previously.

4a Cookies we Use

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see how people are using our website, such as which pages are being viewed and how often. Google provides anonymised data about the visits made to our website. The information gathered by Google Analytics helps us to improve our site and tailor it to our customers’ needs. Google servers automatically record the page requests made when you visit our site. These “server logs” typically include your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.

We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes, we cannot recognise you from the records we hold and cannot access your computer or any information about you.

Online Ordering. We use the WooCommerce shopping cart to process online orders. To keep track of cart data, WooCommerce makes use of 3 cookies:

(1)  woocommerce_cart_hash, (2) woocommerce_items_in_cart and (3) wp_woocommerce_session_

Cookies (1) and (2) contain information about the cart as a whole and helps WooCommerce know when the cart data changes. The final cookie (wp_woocommerce_session_) contains a unique code for each customer so that it knows where to find the cart data in the database for each customer. No personal information is stored within these cookies.

Social Sharing. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn all store cookies which allow social sharing functionality but only if you use the social sharing buttons on our website.

More info: facebook.com/about/privacy or twitter.com/privacy or policy.pinterest.com/en-gb/privacy-policy or linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy

We may also link to several other sites which may or may not use cookies in order to track usage and provide you with a better web experience.

If you are concerned about cookies from this or any other website you may want to adjust the privacy settings in your internet browser. By doing this you can withdraw your consent for websites to upload cookies to your computer.

4b Accept or Decline Cookies

Most internet browsers automatically accept (or ‘consent’ to) cookies, but you can usually change your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. This may reduce your browsing experience but it gives you greater control over the cookies that are placed on your computer.

You can find out more about the different types of cookies and what they do at BBC Webwise or at www.allaboutcookies.org.
